“Fast & Furious 8,” the last trilogy
part of “Fast and Furious” franchise is surely one of the most
anticipated sequels to “Furious 7.” The team is working hard to match up
with the success of “Fast & Furious 7.”
Currently some of the original stars
disclosed they will still be part of the soon-to-be-released “Fast
& Furious 8,” starring lead actor Vin Diesel, who will reprise his
role as Dominic Toretto in the series. Co-stars Michelle Rodriguez as
Dom’s wife Letty Ortiz-Toretto, Tyrese Gibson as Roman Pearce, Ludacris
as Tej Parker, and Jason Statham, introduced in the series as the
“Furious 7” villain Deckard Shaw, will join him.
It seems Jordana Brewster won’t be one of them. Vin Diesel has not confirmed her presence in the franchise.
Jordana Brewster had played the role of
Mia Toretto earlier and was rumored to comeback. Addressing these
rumors, Brewster had told Huffington Post Live via Bustle in the past,
“I don’t know [if I’d do another film], but it’s always dependent on the
fans. If they want one and if there’s an appetite for it. We never want
to jump the shark!”
Vin Diesel told Variety that the team behind the fast cars and criminals’ series is in the preliminary stages of developing prequels and spinoffs.
“We’ve written out story lines for
various characters,” said Diesel. “We’ve been playing with it for a long
time. It’s a very rich property and we’re committed to treating it with
a lot of class.”
Diesel, who is also one of the
producers of the films, stated that Furious 8 may not be the last film
made for the box-office hit movie franchise. He believes there are three
more “Fast and Furious” films left in him, but Universal brass said
that there might be some changes with that figure.
As per movienewsguide.com,
in an interview with Toronto Sun, Tyrese Gibson, who will be playing
the role of Roman Pearce in the upcoming “Fast and Furious” franchise,
has hinted towards Matt Damon’s entry. Gibson said, “There is definitely
a number eight, yeah! And I want Matt Damon to join us!”
Gibson further quoted, “They have
flying cars now, so that could be interesting to incorporate. I could
see Vin driving really, really fast in one of those itty-bitty car
planes, like in The Jetsons cartoon.”
Fast & Furious 8 is scheduled for release on April 14, 2017.
