lost secrets of games

Remember when your family used to get together for the big Easter Egg hunt every year? Do you recall sprinting around the house multiple times looking for every last colorful egg, hoping to get the sweet candy or fresh dollar bill inside? Wasn’t there always one egg that no one could ever find, until Grandpa fished it out from under his hat and laughed at the mean trick he pulled on everyone? These nine video game secrets all came from Grandpa’s hat.

Some of them were eventually discovered by players after many years of hiding, others had to be revealed to us by the people who made them. All of them, however, are really well-hidden secrets that many players might have never found without help. I won’t be shocked if there’ one or two on this list that you even now haven’t seen before
TO. THIS. DAY. I haven't found mention online of an incredible secret in A Link to the Past that I found when I was a kid. It's really easy to activate:
1) Have bombs and magic powder in your inventory. 2) Go to the Witch's Hut. Approach the witch's cauldron (close enough that you can trigger conversation w/ the witch) 3) Quickly: Drop two bombs in succession, then switch to your magic powder and sprinkle it twice. 4) Before the bombs explode, switch to your map. Then exit the map. 5) Voila, enjoy the hidden world between the Light and Dark world!
... okay, so it's just the light world w/ a lot of sprites swapped around, but it's interesting nonetheless.
Just found out yesterday that inside Pokemon Puzzle Challenge is a nearly finished (and playable) version of Panel de Pon. Have had the game for over 10 years and I never knew this. So that's how I spent part of my night yesterday, experiencing Panel de Pon for the first time ever, pretty cool.
Also, I think it would be a good idea if you mention how many years it took for these to be discovered. While you've mentioned this for a few, I'd like to know this for all of them
